Tim Danford
Tim Danford joined Storm Ventures from Cisco Systems, where he was a technology leader in the Business Development organization. Tim worked with senior executives to develop strategies for entering new markets and was responsible for developing technology strategies, identifying opportunities and working with business development managers to execute investment, partnering and acquisition transactions. During Tim's 6-year tenure at Cisco, he played a key role in developing Cisco's wireless strategy. The implementation of this wireless strategy resulted in the acquisition of JetCell, where Tim was the primary technology interface, as well as the acquisition of Exio, where Tim worked closely with the founders as they were exiting Hyundai and developing their product. Tim also worked closely with senior executives to develop and build Cisco's Enterprise VoIP (Voice-over-IP) Business Unit, which resulted in the acquisition of Selsius and the implementation of the Cisco AVVID product lines. Tim was awarded the first prestigious Technology Pioneer award by Cisco's CTO for his contributions to the founding VoIP team. Prior to Tim's contributions to Cisco's VoIP technology he managed a team responsible for competitive analysis of ATM networking equipment, and he worked closely with the Lightspeed team after their acquisition. Tim has over 18 years of extensive Internetworking and Telecommunications background. His technical education includes ship-board radio and telecommunications systems from the U.S. Coast Guard and studies at the Advanced Data Networking Institute in Wisconsin. Tim studied Criminal Justice at Ohio's Kent State University.
Janet Gregory
Janet Gregory has over 25 years of management experience with successful and innovative companies offering business productivity tools. Her business experience is is in building highly effective sales organizations selling both direct and through channel partners. Janet is a co-founder of KickStart Alliance where she runs the sales readiness practice. Janet's most recent corporate experience was with ShoreTel where as the VP Sales in 3-years she helped the company achieve profitability and rise to #8 in IP Telephony marketshare. Prior corporate experience was as a member of the founding executive team at Latitude Communications (later acquired by Cisco), a pioneer in voice and web conferencing. In her six years as the VP Sales at Latitude, Janet took the company from zero revenue to profitability, and a successful IPO. Prior to her tenure at Latitude, Janet worked in both the service provider and CPE divisions of Octel Communications (later acquired by Lucent and spun off into Avaya). She started her telecom career with nine years at ROLM/IBM (later acquired by Siemens). Janet is an active member of the Advisory Boards of ShoreTel, Sylantro Communications and noHold. She graduated magna cum laude from Guilford College in Greensboro, NC and holds a B.A. in English.
Bill Price
Bill brings a successful track record in creating new markets and establishing a leadership position for companies in those markets. Most recently, Bill founded Driva Solutions, LLC, to provide transformational consulting, hosted managed services and information/research services aimed at achieving the delicate balance between cost containment and the need to increase customer loyalty. To truly provide global support services, Bill co-founded the LimeBridge Global Alliance, which today includes ten leading firms in the UK, France, Germany, Sweden, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia and India. Prior to founding Driva Solutions, Bill joined Amazon.com as Vice President of Global Customer service. He was responsible for all customer service activities, including the company's customer contact strategy to serve customers across 180+ countries. While at Amazon.com, Bill spearheaded the company's web-based customer self-service initiatives and initiated using "co-sourcers" in India, Northern Ireland and the US. Other experience includes Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer Positions at ACP (a pioneer in automated voice response services, which was acquired by MCI and became MCI's Enhanced Voice Services (EVS) division) and other management positions at MCI and McKinsey & Company. Bill received his bachelor's degree in Economic Geography from Dartmouth College and his MBA from Stanford University.
Karen Riley
Karen Riley has spent 25 years in the technology industry, in direct sales and the delivery of enterprise services and solutions. She has held senior leadership positions in software development, product marketing and alliance partnership. She also led the development of global customer relationships in the financial services, telecommunications, and high-technology industries. Most recently, Ms. Riley was senior vice president of global services at Siebel Systems. In her five years at Siebel, she managed worldwide direct sales and delivery of Siebel's professional services including, technical and end user education, sales effectiveness consulting and maintenance contract renewals. She grew Siebel's services business from one third of the company's revenue in 1999 to two thirds of the company's revenue by 2003. Prior to joining Siebel, Ms. Riley spent 20 years at IBM where she was most recently general manager of business process management services. During her tenure at IBM, she conceived and started up IBM's global services business for business process outsourcing and customer relationship management (CRM). Ms. Riley currently serves on the Boards of Directors for Portal Software and for the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs and Executives (FWE), and the advisory board for Princeton Softech and Certus Software. She holds a bachelor's degree in computer science from the University of Delaware and MBA credits in operations research from Santa Clara and Drexel Universities.
